The Latest

Yesterday was wicked fun. The afternoon was spent doing a F.A.R.T. (fabric acquisition road trip). They are the best and oh this one was good. Have you seen the new Riley Blake fabrics that are coming out soon? Some are in stores and some are just sneak peaks but oh how I love them all! But I am getting ahead of myself. Before I get into all that, you have to see my new finish. Do you remember this inspiration photo:

I looked at this picture and put a little spin on it to come up with my new favorite for the next week or two. It started with a funny box of fabric my dad found at a garage sale at the home of an elderly woman who had passed away. He thought I might be interested in the fabric and little did we know the treasure we would find. Deep in the box was a write up of a pattern with penciled in notes. The date on it was from the early eighties. Between that those few pages and the picture above came a stack of these...

 and a stack of these...

And then...

This!

It is a Triple Irish Chain quilt done in two colors instead of three or four. My favorite part is the way it is quilted.

You can't really tell from the top of the quilt what there is but it gives it such flow and texture. Looking at the back, you can see all the wonderful-ness that is going on.

It was so much fun to quilt. There are a few client quilts in line right now that have requested something specific but in the line up, there is one that is begging for some of this. Such fun!!

Now that this one is done, I am struggling as to which quilt to do next. That is why there was a F.A.R.T yesterday afternoon. The hardest part is deciding which fabric to play in next!! How do you decide?

Another Client Quilt

Baby quilts might be my favorite. Kris brought me this one to quilt for her new grandbaby and it was so fun. She did a baby pink minky on the back and asked for simple loops and swirls. We had to do better than that so tucked in amongst the swirls are hearts. They turned out so cute. Thanks for letting me play Kris!

Client Quilt

Isn't this the cutest crib set up? The wall color, crib, and quilt combination are adorable. This is a blanket I had the opportunity to quilt awhile ago and am so excited to see it all bound and gorgeous.

Thanks Kim for the pictures!
