Imagine this: a few days before Christmas and someone brings you a quilt and tells you that it is a Christmas present and if possible, could you please have it done in time to give as a gift. The response: OF COURSE! There were a few quilts in line before this one but we made it happen and even turned and gave it to her within 24 hours of receiving it. Her daughter had made it as a gift for her boyfriend who plays lacrosse. For her very first quilt, she did an amazing job! It was so fun to play with.
Look at the detail on those lacrosse... tools? Sticks? Bats with nets?
The numbers of his jersey and the black border were both quilted the same with the nets and sticks being outlined to emphasize the appliques. She was so excited when she saw it the next day that it made the almost-all-nighter-just-before-Christmas worth it.
Annette ~ you made it all possible!!!! The quilt turned out great and you are always wonderful to work with! (ps we didn't expect it done for Christmas so it was a great present for you to do it!!!)
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy of her design. It is beautiful!! I have 2 boys that would LOVE this!

DeleteI am absolutely in love with this quilt and it is exactly what I have been looking for to make for my 17-year-old lacrosse player! Would you be willing to share any details or insider secrets on how to pull this off for someone that has never done an applique on a quilt before? Also, would you suggest a quilt that would fit on their bed or more a "drag" around quilt? Beautiful job!

DeleteThis may be a really silly question, but is there someone you recommend that could take the pattern and make the quilt? TIA!
